The Copeland Family of Restaurants Partner with Ochsner’s Eat Fit NOLA to Offer Healthy Options01-May-2014 Copeland’s of New Orleans and Cheesecake Bistro by Copeland’s have teamed up with Eat Fit NOLA, part of Ochsner Health Systems, to highlight better-for-you items on their menus both locally and nationally.
While creating the dishes for the Eat Fit NOLA menu, the Copeland Family of Restaurants were required to produce dishes that met a certain criteria established by both Ochsner and the Eat Fit NOLA team. The requirements are:
Entrée or Entrée Salad:
- Less than 600 calories
- Less than 800 mg sodium
- Less than 10% of calories from animal-based saturated fat
- 0 grams trans fats
- No white, refined starches
- Less than 5 grams (one teaspoon) of added sugar (e.g. honey, agave, sugar, etc)
Each concept will carry its own Eat Fit NOLA menu with many different options that are balanced and nutritious, yet still craveable. Copeland’s of New Orleans will feature dishes such as Fresh Fish & Crab Claws, Salmon Cobb Salad, Tuscan Chicken with whole grain pasta and more. Cheesecake Bistro will feature Seared Salmon & Shiitake, Salmorra Chicken, Asian Shrimp & Vegetables, Bistro Tacos along with other Eat Fit NOLA dishes. Both concepts will also offer a kid’s Eat Fit NOLA entrée, Grilled Chicken or Shrimp Marinara, which has less than 300 calories and less than 400 mg of sodium.
Copeland’s and Cheesecake Bistro will use the Ochsner-approved seal which will identify the qualified Eat Fit NOLA dishes.
